The Numbers Game

The figures in the chart below from 1981 through 1983 are from an archived document titled Where We Have Been Where We Are Now, Where We Are Going. If I have to refer to it again, I shall call it the Where document. Additional year numbers are from real budgets reported, not projected.

The actual dates cited in the document are year spans. 1981 here means 1981-1982. The fiscal year apparently started September 1. However, there are so many other reporting schedules, it may be impossible to add any more, accurate figures or comparable spans to this list.

Assuming, of course, that these figures are accurate... The leap in "Audience Involved" from 1982 to 1983, for example, is suspect, to say the least. I'm curious what are the differences between "Probably Outreach" and "Audience Involved."

I'll keep looking. Meanwhile, please not that the first 8 columns were named by whomever prepared the Where document. I shortened "Exhibitions" to shows, so more columns would fit on this page. Same deal with Corporate Memberships to Corp Membs.

Because information is presented in so many different ways through the years, headings may change as we progress down the chart.
