Norman Kary - Armstrong book
9 x 9 x 2-1/2 inches.

Norman Kary and I met under difficult circumstances. He complained about my attitude toward the schmaltz that D-Art was showing back then in one of my DARts on-paper editorials. He said something about it chapping his ass, so I sent him some Anusol supositories. We later became friends, and I'm a huge fan of his work. If his name is on the exhibitors list, I'll go to any art show, most any where.

After I included him in The Book Show, which I curated upstairs at Artisana gallery in July 1993, he gave me this gorgeous book, which Karen Erxleben Weiner noted was "all about transparency." It's a treasure. Above are the book's box and the book with Armstrong on the cover. I only wish I could include all the pages in here.

There's a small picture of his toy in last year's EASL toy show. And several other pieces in a review of a show at Edith Baker Gallery some time ago.
