Linnea Glatt's serenely simple permanent sculpture installation between parallel hills on the Richland Community College campus was completed by union masons just in time for a warm, sunny opening.
Glatt, winner of last year's Anne Giles Kimbrough Fund from the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, used money from that award and from The Dallas County Community College District Foundation to design and install A Place to Gather.
Secluded from the DCCCD clone architecture of the inner campus, the piece offers meditative quiet and a boundless view of the surrounding landscape. We can't wait for the grass to grow up around it.
