Pizzicato Porno by Danielle
Georgiou & Justin
in photographs by J R Compton
at the smallish Margo Jones Theatre at Fair Park, where Tennessee Williams debuted
some of his work in the 1940s, was, I think, at least the second time Pizzicato
Porno has been
performed before an audience, and the second time I got to see and photograph
the show that will be presented next month at the Texas
Biennial in San Antonio's Blue Star Museum,
for which this showing was intended to raise money to send the performers
there and probably buy some more balloons.
I'm eschewing my usual word fest here, because
reviewed this show, and because this time I was much more interested in showing
than telling, although I don't think words like shocking and startling
are out of place.
I'm wishing the two great success at the Texas Bi.
These shots are in strict chronological order, but are by no means a complete collection of what went on on stage, which was fabulous fun to see and photograph. Pizicato Porno is about relationships, but there weren't andy words, it was all told visually in dance and action.
And it doesn't hold back.
These images were shot at ISO 3200 with a Panasonic Lumix G5 camera with a 20mm f1.7 lens.
