I enjoy the challenge of visually documenting my explorations in the world. Continually alert to the differences and sameness of sights, whether the journey takes me into familiar or unfamiliar surroundings. I am always on the look out for interesting designs, patterns and light that play across the ordinary details.I am intrigued by the predictable unpredictability of the Image Transfer and Emulsion Lift processes. They give the images an added texture and feel that allows for further exploration and, sometimes, even reinterpretations.
The Image or Polaroid Transfer produces an image similar in appearance to a watercolor painting. The images are infused with a warm and timeless dream-like quality. The Emulsion Lift has a translucent and fluid quality that seems to move on the page. The ability to manipulate so freely produces an image that is like a memory or dream, faded and frayed at the edges.
