Biographical Statement

It is all about a spiritual journey, even though I was unaware of that for my first 40 years. I wandered around in a spiritual wilderness for decades, searching for a purpose and direction.

Raised in a small town, first church High Episcopal , selected the Unitarians in the 80’s, dabbled in both the Unity and Catholic Churches, in 2000 was invited to a Christmas Eve service at the Fellowship Church Dallas, which I now call my Church Home.

Educational highlights are collegiate studies in art history; fluency in the Italian language which included a year in Bologna, Italy; earned an MA in Environmental Design; several years as a docent at SMU’s Meadows Museum Dallas; career as a commercial interior designer; so far have twice read the entire Bible, and enjoyed a trip to the Holy Land and Jordan.

Forsaking my talent as a formal artist, I practiced interior design for thirty years. An epiphany moment came during a final conversation with my father before he died. He finally declared me “an artist,” somehow giving me the permission I craved- to live my life’s purpose – as God so intended.

In the mid 90s, I turned my design office into an art studio. I laid down my drafting pencil and started painting – allowing God to guide my paintbrush and follow Him with all my heart.

As I read the Bible, I sketch. The scriptures come alive for me. My greatest joys are re-telling Bible stories through visual art. I want His spiritual direction in me to make a spiritual connection with you.
