This print is from a series I did that deals with the topography of the land. It refers to the charting and mapping of land surfaces.

Twister is a small collage made up of cut pieces of my previous prints. By manipulating these pieces, I hope to create a new reality, one that is evocative of the lines, shapes, and dynamic forces of nature.

I used monotype, monoprint, and elements from previous prints to create this collage.

 

Biography

Cecilia Thurman received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas and her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas. Her studies have also included graduate level work in Aesthetic Studies at the University of Texas at Dallas and Printmaking at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. She has exhibited in numerous one-person and group exhibitions in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as in group shows, competitions, and invitational shows throughout the United States and in Guatemala, Japan, Mexico and France.

Mrs. Thurman’s work can be found in several corporate collections; including Ernst and Young, Lucent Technologies, Northern Telecom Inc., Merrill Lynch Corporation, Kaiser Permanente, The Cooper Center, Mitsui Company, Richmont Corporation, American Airlines and others. She is a resident of Dallas, Texas.
