Bad
PR
by J R Compton
Enshrined on this page is/will be the absolute worst PR (press releases, public relations) we get. And we get some doozies.
Their words in black. Mine in gray.

Subject: The AetheriA Foundation
Received: 8:40 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2005The AetheriA Foundation, A nonprofit (5013c) corporation, was formed to benefit the Arts District of DFW and the metroplex.
Correct nomenclature is 501c3.
Both DFW and the metroplex?
Shouldn't Metroplex be capitalized?
Endowments will include The Dallas Symphony, The Opera and the Texas Ballet, as well as various Museums in the DFW area.
I'm not convinced The Arts District needs to be benefitted, but if we're going to specify the Symphony (and shouldn't that be the Dallas Opera?), the opera and the Texas Ballet, how can we let "various Museums" go without notice? Which ones? And why is the word museums capitalized?
Additional benefactors will be students from the DFW area in the form of full scholarships for the TOP three students in Music, Visual Art and Theater as well as a mentor program for the top Arts teacher.
A benefactor is one who gives aid, not who receives it.
No telling what TOP means — most popular, most attractive, most intelligent, those with the best attendance records, best grades, most involved families?
Which school district(s)? Kindergartens, elementary, middle or high schools? Public or private schools? And a mentor program for the top (no capitalization this time) Arts (capitalized) teacher? Taught by the guy who wrote this drivel?
AetheriA, "an artclectic evening" will be our first annual charity event to be held January 27, 2007 at Fair park in Dallas.
artclectic? Ignoring the weird capitalization from here on, this sounds like fiction.
Any particular venue at Fair Park? Or just out there? Maybe the cow barn?
Entertainment will include the benefactors of the event as well as Cirque Du Soleil, Kelly Clarkson, Norah Jones, Pat Green, Willie Nelson and other Texas legends. With Supporters like Governor Rich Perry and a host of others, AetheriA will become THE annual event like no other.
I wonder if any of these people have agreed to be there (wherever there might be).
The whole circus or just a few clowns? They'd fit right in.
Rich Perry? Our governor might prefer his name listed as Rick.
Not just THE annual event, but also like no other...
Your participation is requested to help ensure AetheriA becomes the signature event of the millennium and to help raise artistic consciousness of the metroplex. The children of the metroplex need your support, donations and involvement. Thank you for your time and consideration and have an artistic day.
Not just the signature event of the year or the decade but of the millennium, and only 995 more years to come up with something better.
What, nobody knows about the metroplex yet? Or the metroplex doesn't know about art yet? Or the writer of this BS doesn't know public consciousness from hotse pucky?
The children? What children?
Support? Donations? What donations?
And, of course, I'm going to get involved in such an obviously professional organization that would hire this guy to do their PR.

david Anderson? Is that who's responsible for this?
I don't think I've ever seen worse PR. Ever. Anywhere.
If this is not a joke, it should be.
I tried their website. Click anywhere and up pops an email window. There's no other information except their email address.
